Excalibur Knights

Legendary

Knowledge & Leadership

The legend of Excalibur, the magical sword of King Arthur, is the cornerstone of medieval knight

mythology and tradition. It is also the basis for the selection, recognition and mission of San Marcos High School’s Excalibur Knights.

For centuries the Excalibur has been a symbol of wisdom and honor. Yet, as the legend is told, only someone with superior knowledge and recognized integrity can know and use its great power. The Excalibur Knights of San Marcos High School represent the pinnacle of academic excellence and are selected based on their cumulative academic performance.

It is said that the blade of Excalibur shined as brightly as thirty torches, and that the first Knight into battle carried Excalibur as a beacon for others to follow. Our Excalibur Knights are role models and leaders, not only academically, but at every level. Many provide important leadership to our co-curricular clubs and organizations, to our extra-curricular teams and programs, and throughout the local community.

The San Marcos High School Excalibur Knights, in the tradition of their namesake, uniquely characterize the qualities of knowledge and leadership, for which they are honored.
